Hildebrandt Consort

The Hildebrandt Consort, named after the organ builder made famous by J. S. Bach, Zacharias Hildebrandt, was founded by its artistic director, Wouter Dekoninck. The Hildebrandt Consort mainly performs music from the late baroque period, often with small ensembles, and brings to life the works of Johann Sebastian Bach in particular. Under the masterful leadership of Wouter Dekoninck, the Hildebrandt Consort has developed a highly unique sound and exceptional repertoire of original compositions and new transcriptions of old music for orchestra and organ in keeping with the principles and compositional style of the original composer. Like no other, this ensemble has a true understanding of the chemistry of metamorphoses in the manner of the old masters themselves. These passionate musicians transform violin concerti into organ concerti, keyboard suites into orchestral suites (with or without solo organ), preludes into fugues for baroque orchestra (and solo organ) and bring out the full colour of organ masses in transcriptions for baroque orchestra with vocal ensemble. The Hildebrandt Consort forges ahead, taking the world of old music into new, uncharted territory.
